Abstract: The topic covers the gold and silver alloys and the brazing technology for precious metal jewelry．Categories，characteristics and applications of gold and silver alloys for jewelry were listed along with the specific brazing filler metal and brazing technology for every type．According to the national standards，48 brands of brazing filler metals for silver alloys(including palladium alloys)and 19 brands of gold alloys were used within varieties of industries，but none for jewelry industry．Along with the growing of market demand for precious metal alloys，material safety standards for brazing filler metals specifically for jewelry are in request．It is certain that nontoxic，series of standardized jewelry industrial brazing filler metals as well as relevant national standards will soon walk on to stage．
