Abstract:
E2507 flux-cored wire is a special welding wire that developed for high nitrogen stainless steel containing the nitrogen of 0.65% ~ 0.7% based on the composition matching principle. In order to evaluate the application effect,it is necessary to analyze the welding process performance. In this paper, the arc stability, droplet transfer and soot incidence of the special wire were analyzed. The variation coefficient
ε( Tc)of the droplet short circuiting was introduced as an index to reflect the stability of the welding process. Through the analysis of the test results,it was found that the welding process of the E2507N welding wire was the most stable at the welding parameters of 21V/190A. The experimental results show that even with the shielding gas of pure CO
2 gas,the E2507N high-nitrogen steel stainless steel flux-cored wire has a high frequency of droplet transfer, reaching 120 N/s with less spatter; the incidence of soot is 621 mg/min,and the dust emission rate is higher. So it can be stated that this welding wire is an environmentally friendly welding wire.
