    Abstract: With the rapid development of computer technology, computer simulation and emulation technology have been widely used as one of important means to study the welding process. In this paper, the application and research status of computer simulation and emulation technology in underwater welding were described. It focuses on the application of finite difference method, finite element method and finite volume method in the underwater welding. Furthermore, the simulation methods, principles, modeling and analytical methods in research were introduced. The current problems and future directions of research were also proposed.
