    Abstract: The microstructure , hardness , abrasive wear resistance and magnetic permeability of the coating were investigated though the metallographic test, Rockwell hardness tester, abrasive test and magnetoconductivity. The results show that micron grade niobium carbide hard phase forms in the microstructure of Non-magnetic hardbanding, the dispersed distribution niobium carbide hard phase not only improves the wear resistance of the Non-magnetic hardbanding, but also enhances the crack resistance. Therefore, the Rockwell hardness and wear resistance of the non-magnetic hardbanding is better than that of the non-magnetic steel PT530.
