Research status of friction stir welding of Al-Li alloy

  • Al-Li alloy has the advantages of low density,high specific strength and specific rigidity,excellent low temperature performance,good corrosion resistance and superplasticity. Friction stir welding( FSW),as a new solid phase joining method,has shown a series of advantages such as low manufacturing cost,low environmental pollution and good mechanical properties when applied to Al-Li alloy welding. In order to further enhance the application of friction stir welding in the field of Al-Li alloy welding,the research status of the microstructure and properties of Al-Li alloy friction stir welded joint at home and abroad was summarized,and the future research direction of Al-Li alloy friction stir welding was prospected.
