New research progress on welding system and application technologies of high energy beam

  • Combined with academic reports of high energy beam committee of International Institute of Welding( IIW) in recent years and research results of other relevant scholars,the latest research results and applications of electron beam welding in non-vacuum,local vacuum,heavy section structures welding,wire feeding processing and repair were introduced in this paper. At the same time,the latest research achievements of laser welding in hybrid welding,precise control of beam trajectory and flexible welding are reviewed. The discussion in this paper was mainly focused on the key topics,including mechanisms of power beam processing,automation of welding process,online monitoring as well as the numerical simulation techniques. Based on the above review,the possible ways to improve research and development ability and innovation ability of high energy beam welding technology in China are discussed.
