Abstract
Double-side pulsed MIG process for 15 mm thick T-joint of 6082 aluminum alloy was investigated with adaptive deposition method.Under the condition of single heat source and unilateral welding, influences of parameters such as reserved clearance, angle of welding gun, wire feeding speed and traveling speed on formation of weld were analyzed. According to formation of weld and its surface quality, the optimum welding parameters were determined. On this basis, T-joints were welded with double-side symmetric heat source and double-side asymmetric heat source. The results showed that when the reserved clearance was 0 mm or 1 mm and angle of welding gun was about 15°, weld was full and without undercut. When the wire feeding speed was 9. 5 m/min, the weld was well formed and the root could be fully fused.
