Root defect control of FSW joint of aluminum alloy

  • Based on analysis of root defects formation mechanism of aluminum alloy FSW joints, optimization of mixing head and welding parameters was put forward to subdue root defects of FSW joints, avoid the mechanical properties of joints such as bending properties and tensile properties decline caused by root defects, while the strength coefficient of joints was increased from 71 \% to 81 \% above.
