Overview of early failure of dissimilar steels joint in power plants

The application history,failure statistics and early failure models of ferritic/austenitic dissimilar steels welded joints in power plants were summarized. From the reviewed research including the characteristics,self-defects and service conditions of the welded joint,both internal and external causes of early failure of the joints were analyzed. In view of adjusting discharge peak of power plants in our country,the influence of alternating stress on the early failure of joints were elaborated. Based on the unclear aspects of the research in this field,the future work was considered.
