Research status and challenges of wire and arc additive manufacturing in material preparation

  • Additive manufacturing can be directly integrated low-cost manufacturing complex components,and it has become the most potential material processing technology. Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing( WAAM) based on surfacing technology is the most suitable method for low-cost,fast and near net-shape of large-size and complex components. In this paper,the achievements at home and broad in recent years about WAAM in different material forming process parameters and organizational performance were summarized,and the directional suggestions were proposed for the future development of WAAM.
