Robot welding of spherical joint and pipe bar in steel structure

  • The spherical joints and pipe bars were welded by mobile welding robot in the roof steel structure of new Beijing Airport Terminal.The welding procedure qualification was executed on spherical joint and pipe bar with welding robot. The tensile tests,bending tests and impact tests were carried out to verify the welding parameters were proper. Based on these tests,the welding robot was used to weld the spherical joints and pipe bar at site operation in construction of new Beijing Airport Terminal. The results show that the mechanical properties of the weld meet the requirements. The robot is suitable for the field welding of the steel structure.
