Variable polarity plasma arc welding based on keyhole characteristics

Variable polarity plasma arc welding (VP-PAW) is a high efficient method for aluminum alloy, while it is sensitive to welding parameters. The effect of VP-PAW parameters on keyhole characteristics and weld appearance were studied. The results show that the welding process can be controlled by combining the suitable welding parameters and keyhole characteristics.
