Abstract
The research status of joining magnesium alloy to titanium alloy in recent years were summarized. Aiming at the quite different melting points between magnesium and titanium with immiscible and nonreactive characteristics, some special welding technologies complemented with alloying elements added to improve interfacial state is the key to obtain the reliable welding joint. The control of metallurgical reaction on interface is considered to be the core. The latest developments of Mg/Ti dissimilar joint were introduced such as laser welding and transient liquid phase welding. The research tendency was indicated as well.
