Abstract:
Objective According to the requirements of project, the welding process test of Inconel600 nickel-based superalloy plate is carried out according to the latest standards.
Methods Through this process evaluation test, the macro morphology, microstructure and mechanical properties of the welded joint are studied to evaluate feasibility of welding process, and the requirements of welding method, welding gas, welding wire, process parameters, welding equipment, welded joint quality and welded joint structure are examined.
Results The results show that the strength of Inconel600 superalloy welded joint is higher than that of base material. The tensile strength is about 573 MPa, the yield strength is about 355 MPa, reduction of area is about 33.33%, and elongation after fracture is about 35.91%, and plasticity is good. The bending samples have no cracking phenomenon and morphologies are intact, indicating that the toughness of Inconel600 superalloy welded joint is good. The tensile fracture shows necking phenomenon, fracture position is basically the same as distance from weld center, and fracture characteristics are ductile. The base material has a typical full austenite equiaxed crystal structure. Microstructure at heat affected zone of the welded joint is coarse, and hardness at weld zone is greater than that of base material.
Conclusion Performance of TIG welded joint of Inconel600 nickel-based superalloy is good.
